Whilst I offer training for all ages, my main area of focus is puppies (including adolescents). When I first started studying canine training and behaviour, the avenues available became a little overwhelming. It would take a lifetime and more to develop skills in all areas. 

Dog sports and agility? Reactivity? Behaviour modification? Separation anxiety? Scentwork? Assistance dogs? The list is endless! I knew whatever I did, I didn't want to be a 'jack-of-all' I wanted to really deep dive into that field and commit to being the best I could for that audience. Over the years, I feel I have naturally found my 'niche', and continue to build on my expertise in the field of....

Puppies! 

I set about growing my knowledge in both areas, and found my spark ignited in dogs under 2. The rate at which their brains develop throughout this period is phenomenal, and absolutely fascinating!

Would you believe me if I told you your puppy is NOT a blank canvas, no matter how diligent you may have been in choosing the right breeder? The influences that have shaped the puppy you have today began even before conception (but that's all explained in this Blog ).

Training and behaviour are not exclusive fields. It is imperative that, as a trainer, we also understand behaviour because being able to identify the cause of a problem (behaviour) is the first step in modifying it. Your dogs reactivity isn't likely to be resolved with straightforward lead skills training. It is our job to help you understand your dog and ensure you are enjoying each others companionship each day.

Some of the most common behavioural problems we encounter in the modern world could be prevented with the right coaching in puppy-hood. I am here to work with you proactively throughout the sensitive stages of development in young puppies and adolescent dogs, and change the way we approach our training with bespoke packages to suit all needs. 

Those needle sharp teeth, the sleepless nights and accidents in the house can leave us with a big dose of the Puppy Blues (yes, that really is a thing, you are not alone!) 

Knowing how to manage and redirect these inevitable behaviours is the first step. We want to shift our focus from training in a problem, to training before the problem even has a chance to manifest! 

I want to help you understand why your puppy behaves as they do,  teach you how to communicate, read their body language, train key life skills and have the dog you always dreamed of!
